Upcoming Brisbane meeting:
Monday, 16 August 2010
17:30 - 20:00
Object Oriented Programming
by Mark Patterson
This month a temporary break from the Client Datasets trilogy when Mark Patterson will explain to us (or remind us) what Object Orinted Programming is all about. In his own words:
"I will explain what OOPS is and how to do it in Delphi and how we are already familiar with it. I will give a sense of the sort of problems it solves, and how it tidies up frequently encountered forms of complexity."
Mark will follow our usual format, so bring in your hardware so that we can work on the challenges that Mark has prepared for us. Or feel free to work on something else after his presentation has finished.
Again, I will bring in the box with the Delphi books that you can use during the meeting. Feel free to bring in your own books; I suggest that you label them if you want to share them with others.
Always RSVP Please
Please RSVP to Alex Fekken
before 3pm on the meeting day so that we will know how much pizza to order. As usual, pizza and drinks are provided by Embarcadero
.
How and When to Get There
As always, doors will open at 5:30pm for informal chat, Embarcedero pizza and drinks and settings things up. We aim to start the more organised part of the meeting at 6pm and by then the library will be closed.
When you get to the shopping centre use Gate 5 on Musgrave Road to park near the Cinemas and Library. You can enter the meeting room through the Library if you are on time (i.e. until just before 6). If you are late and the Library is closed, then look for the entrance from the car park (labelled "Library Meeting Room") just around the corner from the entry to the cinema (on the side of Musgrave Road).
We may close the door to keep the noise out, so you may have to knock until we hear you or you can call me on 0466 587 553.
Indooroopilly Library (Meeting Room)
Level 4, Indooroopilly Shoppingtown
(322 Mogill Road, Indooroopilly) Use car park entrance (gate) 5 on Musgrave Road Then use BCC cinema entry to go through Library
(or use door to "Library Meeting Room" from the carpark)
