CodeCrunch - The Topics
by All Present
This month I want to look at some of the topics that we
could cover as "anarchistic workshops" for CodeCrunch next year. If there are any
topics that you want to learn more about, in a semi-controlled workshop environment,
then please take your suggestions to the meeting.
Note that although there will be presentations as well
during CodeCrunch, they will only be used as a means to put you to work and get
your hands dirty on some code. So if, for example, you want to see a presentation
on the MVC design pattern then you should be ready to try to implement an example
of that yourself in our semi-controlled CodeCrunch environment. That's the CodeCrunch
deal.
CodeCrunch will also be about providing you with an opportunity
to present your real world problems to your peers and see if they can help you solve
(or bypass) them. But you can of course also take your problems to our regular meetings
and if there is time for it we will have a look them. In this meeting in particular there should be some time for that.
Last week we did not get around to debugging our Blackfish stored procedure. If there is an interest in it then we can pick that up again.
During the usual pizza gossip we will probably talk about
Nick Hodges' visit to Brisbane
and certainly about the upcoming
Unit Testing workshop.
We start, informally, around 5:30pm and finish around 7:15pm.
Please RSVP before 12:00 on Monday so that we will know how much pizza, provided
as usual by CodeGear, to get.
