This month I want to have a look at databases and database engines, with the intent of going more in-depth in a later meeting (or even a workshop), depending on the response. 

This topic was left over from last month when we spent the whole evening on Version Control Systems and then did a quick and improvised Virtual Machines intro in over-time. Let me know if you want us to expand on any of that. We already have some hands-on demos of Version Control Systems planned for a later month.

On the admin side of things:

Our Annual Symposium is later this month and I will draw some attention to that.

And this month I will continue fishing for subcommittee members. The subcommittee members will meet roughly every 3 months to discuss how things are going and to plan future meetings and events (workshops, symposia). In addition they are expected to help organise those meetings and events.

Also, I would like to organise two workshops in 2010 and want to use the first meetings of the year to find out what sort of topics people would be interested in. One topic that seems to be of interest is Delphi Prism and .NET development .

And as usual we will be flexible and deviate from this default agenda whenever a better proposal for something to look at or discuss comes up.

As always, doors will open at 5:30pm for informal chat, pizza and settings things up. We aim to start the more organised part of the meeting at 6pm.

Of course we will send reminders to the ADUG list and to regular attendees anyway.
