It will be a full day workshop and include the usual refreshments and luncheon, but as with all ADUG events it is priced to break even, which means that the cost to you is a fraction of that of a commercial workshop of this stature.

About Lino

Mr. Alain ("Lino") Tadros is President and CEO of Falafel Software, a software development consultancy which also embraces such luminaries as Steve Texeira and Charlie Calvert. He is a former software engineer in Borland's Delphi and C++ language groups. He is recognized internationally for his expertise in the areas of .NET, COM, XML, SOAP and Internet development and has published many articles on software development. He is a Borland Certified Developer & Trainer on Delphi, C++ Builder, Kylix, and JBuilder and was honored with Borland's prestigious "Trainer of the Year" award at BorCon in 2002.

The .Net Framework Class Library (FCL) is a vast collection of thousands of types (that is, of classes, interfaces, structures, delegates, and enumerations) that aim at encapsulating the functionality of core systems and applications services in order to make application programming easier and faster. This session introduces you to the elegance of the System hierarchy of classes in FCL and demonstrates powerful examples of how to develop using the FCL.

Data Providers in .NET Development

ADO.NET is the new set of classes that expose data access services to the .NET programmer. Go behind the scenes of the design motivations behind ADO.NET and explore an introduction to the two layers of the ADO.NET and explore an introduction to the two layers of the ADO.NET object model – Managed Providers and DataSets. You’ll also understand the integration of ADO.NET with the XML framework and how Visual Studio .NET differs from C# Builder in its support of managed providers to databases.

ASP.NET Development

Creating Custom .NET Components

Extend the .NET Framework component hierarchy by creating custom .NET components. In addition to describing the steps involved in creating a new .NET component, this session will focus on several key aspects of the .NET component architecture, including the .NET Component Model, the new graphics subsystem (GDI+), user controls and custom controls, and supporting events through delegates.
